Power
Data center power is an essential element in designing and running data centers. A simple power failure can be a big disaster causing serious impacts, especially as more and more companies are turning to colocation services and cloud solutions, the number of data centers is soaring. A reliable power supply and distribution system is the must to keep the efficiency and security of a data center and minimize the economical loss.
Partnered with leading vendors which has a proven track record of providing reliable power distribution solutions, IDCS offers technically advanced, reliable and cost effective power solutions for your new facility, or as part of an upgrade to your existing system. Our power solutions are carefully matched to your present – day needs as well as being fully scalable to meet future requirements.
Switchgear

The reliability of critical power distribution, from the building’s incoming power through to safe and reliable power supply at the rack level, depends on any single component that is involved.
An electrical switchgear refers to a centralized collection of circuit breakers, fuses, and switches (circuit protection devices) that function to protect, control, distribute, and isolate electrical equipment and are an integral part of overall data center power systems.
Our data center electrical installation team supply and install bespoke and standard switchgear incorporating intelligent metering units. Our switch gear are fully maintainable and will be installed so they are easily accessible, and designed to support additional circuits for future expansion.
Uninterruptible Power Supply (UPS)

Uninterruptible Power Supply (UPS) systems are vital for ensuring business continuity by protecting the critical network within your data center or server room. UPS systems can provide reliable back-up power for a few minutes to keep servers up during a power surge or they can provide back-up power for more than an hour during a major outage.
There is a variety of UPS models available, from entry level to 3phase systems, with a model to suit most applications and budgets.
Our experienced team is able to select the most suitable solution to meet both the day one and future load requirements of your data center in the most flexible and resilient way.
Power Distribution Unit (PDU)

A power distribution unit (PDU) is a device fitted with multiple outputs designed to distribute electric power, especially to racks of computers and networking equipment located within a data center.
For data center applications, the power requirement is typically much larger than a home or office style power strips with power inputs as large as 22 kVA or even greater. Most large data centers utilize PDUs with 3-phase power input and 1-phase power output.
IDCS supplies a variety of PDU solutions from leading manufactures to suit any data center or server room requirement. Our PDU’s are either a single or three phase input, configured with IEC C13 & C19 as standard stock or can be bespoke manufactured.
Power Connectors (Power Cords)

Power connectors are important for improvements in energy consumption, data center uptime and service response times. Improper cabling or choice of power cables may wreak havoc on the whole network infrastructure.
There are many types of international data center power cords of different standards. Among them, the IEC power cords and the NEMA power cords are suitable and commonly used for connecting computer and network equipment (servers, network switches) in a data rack to a power distribution unit (PDU).
The most common IEC outlet types in data centers are C13 and C19 connectors as defined by IEC 60320. And the most common NEMA power connectors or plugs are NEMA 5-15P.
Backup Battery

Data center operations require the most advanced batteries and battery technology for its backup system in case there is an interference to the main power supply.
Most data centers use a VRLA or valve-regulated lead-acid cell battery to power the uninterrupted power supply or UPS system. These modular cell battery systems need to be replaced between 3-10 years, which is fairly frequent.
IDCS supplies wide range of backup battery from leading battery manufactures from general purpose, high rate, deep cycle and fire to security lines, ensuring you have the right battery for every needs.
