Construction

Whatever the size or type of data center project, the construction phase involves the exact meeting of the detailed design specifications and budgets whilst remaining within the given time frame.

Our turnkey construction services allow you to complete your data center build within specifications, on time and on budget. All of our clients are assigned a full- time project manager and site supervisor giving access to a single point of contact for the duration of the process, to make sure we give full support and answer any questions in regards to data center construction enquiries. Our project managers are diligent about ensuring key milestones for the project and the schedules created are being followed and are on track.

We are committed to meeting each project’s specific requirements to ensure our clients a competitive price, schedule certainty, long-term value and environmental sustainability. We perform full technical design specifications, project management, supervision and fully managed maintenance packages. IDCS’s data center construction phase includes:

Construction Management

Construction management is a professional service that provides a project’s owner(s) with effective management of the project’s schedule, cost, quality, safety, scope, and function. Construction management is compatible with all project delivery methods. No matter the setting, a Construction Manager’s (CMs) responsibility is to the owner and to a successful project.

Our construction management plan starts by providing a comprehensive on-site review along with an assessment of goals and objectives to ensure we meet all expectations for data center project. We utilize our expert knowledge of emerging technology to create a detailed plan in a cost effective manner. Using industry best practices we balance cost savings with the risk of downtime.

Construction Detailed Estimation

For most developments and construction projects, the cost of the venture is analyzed closely after the initial plan is visualized. Getting accurate and informative estimation of the investment is vital to determine the project’s viability and ensure the financial risk is leveraged in a positive direction for the stakeholders.

There are many factors that influence construction cost estimate reports such as including current labor rates, material prices, and site constraints. We assess our client’s needs on a project-by-project basis. As a result, each deliverable we submit varies in level of granularity. To meet the specific needs of our clients, our construction cost estimate reports are specifically tailored to create a clear understanding of probable construction costs.

Construction Scheduling

Critical Path Method (CPM) scheduling is a technique utilized to effectively manage construction projects by analyzing project scope, requirements, and risks with regard to time and resources. It helps in planning and scheduling the essential activities, determining the critical and high-risk activities, the time each of them takes, and their relation with other activities at the project site.

Our comprehensive approach to construction scheduling simplifies the complex project and lets you choose the most profitable path for on time and on budget completion of the project. Our CPM scheduling consultant remains thoroughly engaged with the project teams through all the phases of the construction project from the concept to design and from pre-construction to close-out.

Procurement Management

Our team ensures your equipment investments meet your specific needs and that your new purchases will perform consistently and accurately within your data centers, avoiding potential interoperability issues. We also take a synchronized approach to equipment procurement. Rather than having equipment show up at random intervals, it arrives when it is needed and access is available. We tracks the entire process, from procurement to delivery.

Working in close collaboration with our vendors (suppliers and subcontractors), we’re committed to securing sustainable, long-lasting infrastructure that breaks down social, economic and geographic barriers to make life’s critical resources accessible to everyone. In short, IDCS’s procurement practice goes well beyond price.

Decommissioning and Demolition

Data center decommissioning and demolition involves disposing of the entire data center infrastructure. It involves getting rid of it in a way that eliminates the risk of business data being leaked or lost and ensuring that the physical equipment is disposed of in a way that meets all environmental guidelines. Once all hazardous materials are disposed of, the equipment must be removed and stored and everything must be properly documented.

Our team of associates can maximize return on investment while mitigating risks. Decommissioning your data center site is serious business and must not damage the building infrastructure and must comply with current State and Federal laws affecting recycling data center equipment.
